The Most Influential People of the 1970s
1. Richard Nixon: Richard Nixon was elected in 1969, and his term ran into the 1970s. Even though there are other reasons, the main reason that he is considered influential is when he was convicted of the Watergate Scandal. Nixon was hoping to be reelected for a second term, and he became very paranoid about what was going to happen. That was when he tried to find information about his reelection, and was convicted of the Watergate Scandal.
This is a picture of the Watergate Complex, which was the building that Nixon stole information from to try to learn about the reelection. After Nixon resigned, Ford became president, and gave a full pardon to Nixon. This lead him to be an unpopular president.
2. Hank Aaron: Hank was known as one of the most known baseball players in the 70s. His career went way farther back than just the 70s, and he retired in 1976. He also beat Babe Ruth's record on home runs.
